Yuck for Luck

Hold up!

Drugs/Alcohol

As all New Year’s Days should be, today was a lazy day. It started with a trip to the neighborhood coffee shop / bakery. After a tasty bagel sandwich and Americano, it was time to head to the store to pickup supplies for dinner. Apparently, sausage and sauerkraut on New Year’s Day is supposed to bring you good luck for the year. I guess we’ll find out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Next on the agenda… crawling onto the couch for the Return to Hogwarts, the Harry Potter 20th anniversary special. It was interesting to hear the actors’ perspectives after all this time has passed. I haven’t been back to those books since I read them when they first hit the shelves. Now, I’m thinking it might be fun to give them another read, or at least watch through the movies again.

After HP, I headed back out on a mission to grab some new comfy clothes. The past couple of weeks, I started to realize that my Arizona wardrobe was in tragically low supply of warm-lay-around-the-house-and-do-nothing clothes. I dropped by Fred Meyer first. Let me tell you, their hoodie game is weak! I was, however, able to find some Lindemans lambic there, which was exciting. That drink definitely makes me think of holidays in Tucson with friends… specifically, Christmas at Mark’s house. Awesome memories!

I ended up finding the sweatshirts and hoodies I was after at Target. I picked out three, and I really love one of them. I have a feeling it’s going to see a disproportionate amount of usage.

Then, it was back to the apartment for sausage and sauerkraut. I was pretty sure I was going to hate it, but Ricky highly recommended it. Besides, can’t pass up a chance at having amazing luck for a full year. Surprisingly, I actually really enjoyed it. I think the spicy mustard definitely helped, but everything together on a bun was super delicious. Yay, for trying new things!

I rounded out my day with some Yellowjackets and a Frosty (the perfect winter snack). If you haven’t seen Yellowjackets yet, and you’re dark, creepy, suspense/mystery/drama-type things, I highly recommend you check it out. I’m loving it.

Daily Gratitude

Today, I'm grateful for:

living close to Chad, Sarah, and the kids.

My favorite part of today was:

trying (and spoiler alert: enjoying) sausage and sauerkraut sandwiches.
